Our Central Park E-Scooter Tour covers the same 2-hour, 5-landmark route as our other guided tours, but on Segway Ninebot electric scooters — a stand-up ride that's easy to pick up even if you've never used one. It's the fastest way to see the park's highlights with a local guide, without ever breaking a sweat.
Ninebot scooters top out at 18 mph, well under the park's 25 mph speed limit, and are simple to control with a thumb throttle and hand brake. We start with a short safety briefing and a practice loop before heading into the park.
A 2.5-acre memorial to John Lennon at 72nd Street West. The Imagine mosaic was installed in 1985 — quietest before 10 AM.
The heart of the park, with the 1873 "Angel of the Waters" fountain and 16,000 ornate Minton tiles on the terrace — one of our favorite photo stops.
The most-photographed bridge in NYC — cast iron from 1862. We walk scooters across; riding isn't allowed on the bridge.
The 1869 Calvert Vaux miniature castle at the park's highest point.
A 1934 landmark restaurant on the west side at 67th Street — our usual coffee stop before heading back.
Our Central Park shop, four minutes' walk from the park's south entrance at Columbus Circle.
